What do you think about the potential for an oil agreement with China?

The TFG is transitional and has no power to make treaties or contracts; they are
unilateral work by the president.
The first conference was mandated by IGAD, it had its problems and led to the TFG
which is now fragmented and broken. This new conference is called by Ali Mahdi, it
deals only with tribal issues and is about camels not politics. The venue is disastrous
and only about 400 of 3000 delegates have turned up.
The president’s negotiations with China are illegal and the area where the oil might be is
in Hawiye territory so they will never let the Chinese in. Officially the TFG expired in
February 2007.
