I have looked at the shares and options of both EMS and UNI.

EMS: 67 mill shares, price 42.5 cents.
Add: 43.3 mill shares in escrow.
Also 23 mill options 2004-05.

UNI: 65.6 mill shares, price $2.10.
Add: 21.65 mill in escrow till 1 Nov. 2004.
6.3 mill options ex on Nov 2004.

As to your submission that UNI has only 1 Patent and EMS has 8; I haven't checked that but that in itself does not mean everything. Some Applications are so well written up that one Patent is sufficient.

Another Company starts with one Patent but finds that it needs add-on Patents to cover the additions.

It seems to me that the Approval given to UNI's Contractor to built a facility to manufacture up to 550 mill. syringes would have an efect on the EMS share price on top of the shares in escrow.

This facility was supposed to be finished in Sept. and UNI will commence producing an initial 50 mill syringes per year:

I was originally a shareholder of UNI and picked up about 400% when selling, only to see them rising higher.

I can't make up my mind whether to buy EMS. Let us see what happens.
