Only 2 centres out of 141 are reporting full occupancy. The two centres reporting full occupancy are small centres licensed for 18 and 39 places per day.
Last week I posted a link to a podcast, by one of Australia's most respected and knowledgable commentators on early childhood education and care.
Sadly, the posting attracted a questionable response from two posters, who, rather than offer an informed and factual response to the podcast and the comments made regarding G8, chose to detract from the post with a futile attempt to belittle and humiliate contributors to this forum.
The information I post on this forum, is available to all members of the public through research. Nothing has changed, occupancy levels are dropping across the sector, with many services concerned about enrolments for 2018. It doesn't matter how many centres you have, or how many you buy, they have to be achieving break even occupancy levels. Reducing overheads can be effective if it doesn't reduce the quality of care provided. If the quality of care diminishes occupancy levels drop. High quality care=happy children=happy parents=high occupancy=high profits=happy investors.
