Sorry but that is a fact like man landing on the moon. Fibre network was and is the only viable way to progress. If a technology is discovered now to replace fibre cheaper that would be using hindsight which Rudd did not have back then.

As I heard back in the early 1900's there was opposition to replacing iron wire with copper. If current LNP were in charge back then we would still be using iron wire for our power and phones.
