    SYDNEY, Oct 27 AAP - Gold miner Lihir Gold Ltd said today while improvement were expected in the final quarter, full year gold production forecast have been reduced.

    Lihir said due to production shortfalls in the first three quarters, gold production for the full year would be around 550,000
    ounces.

    The group had previously said it was confident of achieving more than 600,000 ounces in 2003.
