The 5 special stones, 2 of which were 24cts and the others over 5cts and in total were just under 77cts, along with 6221cts of rubies were exported to the USA so they could be graded and assessed. The 5 special stones we also due to be cut and polished by an award winning Gem cutter and polisher called Meg Barry.
A number of these 5 special stones were due for completion by the end of March 17. The original intention was to sell them.
Another batch of 25,000cts of rubies were sent to Thailand, included in this batch were 4 special stones for a total of 29.88cts with one being 11cts and one being 7ct.

Down the track MUS realised they can't just go around selling Rubies willie nillie, thats not how it works, so they changed the plan and set up the upcoming auction. The cutting and polishing of the 5 special stones was then suspended. They will be sent to Thailand for inclusion in the overall inventory. It is unclear how many of these special stones were cut and polished. Another 40,000 cts of rubies were sent to Thailand aswell. The 6148 cts that were also sent to the USA will be sold in the upcoming auction.
