Well if the rumour I heard about what happened at GEM’s last auction is true (some yanks buying up all the rubies) then there are some desperate buyers out there.
We have assumed that GEM moved forward their auction just to try and undercut MUS's auction, but it actually may be due to demand from the customers wanting to get their hands on the rubies as quickly as possible. If we think about it, if GEM wanted to be really Machiavellian they would not have moved their auction to the week after MUS, but the week before. Very bullish.
