Piecing a few things together - looks like one or more of the "sophisticated investors" who bought unsecured convertible notes for 60c have converted and been selling off at the current recent high prices. Nice gain if you can get it.
The board, planning a capital raising under the bright glow of the SP spike resulting from the announcement that Mr Liveris maybe sometime in the future joining the board, was unlikely very happy at the SP diving from said cashing in and how that may impact the CR. The then slapped down a trading halt request to stem the tide. No doubt someone somewhere will be burning the midnight oil this weekend to put the CR together by Tuesday.
All purely my speculation.
