Optus (Opel) had won the B.C bid planing to rollout Wimax on the free 5.7GHz spectrum which it may use it in very remote areas. But i strongly belive not for rural or regional Intel is only making chips for 3.5GHz fixed or 2.3GHz mobile so it will need Austar large blocks of license spectrums. The opportunity for using Wimax in the cities has gone to Seven (Engin)TiVo. But maybe the opportunity for the rest of Australia is still there for reeltime with Opel
