Yeah pretty disastrous downgrades. Pages 64 and 61 in this w/end's AFR features sip in their "Health sector seems to have caught a bug" article. Again, not very encouraging but I've decided to hold rather than suffer my current large loss. My decision is supported by Westpac's current premier research - Their rec for 21/9/07 is Hold, with the following end comment:
""While our confidence is shaken we do not think shareholders should sell out of SIP at current levels. There has been a confluence of negative events and we expect SIP’s integrated business model to allow at least a modest turnaround over the next 18 months. EPS will be supported by an ongoing buy-back."" end of copy.
(Hmmm - they've been wrong before, but I'll stay a while)
