''It may have been Coppo I gave it to???''

You gave nothing to anybody that could possibly change the words and meaning of the quoted verses. The truth being that original Greek was translated well enough to convey the intended meaning. You can't change that. If the translation was that bad, that the verses meant the opposite to what they say, don't you think somebody would have made a case for that? But nobody has, not profession academics, theologians, philosophers, historians, Popes, priests or pastors.....so certainly not you.

After all, it is a highly embarrassing to have a set of verses predicting the return in power in that generation, which the first Christians believed, when no such thing happened.
