You can't pay to "up vote" someone to get through/win. The tipping for "fame points" doesn't affect the competition at all. Just shows who's popular for the average Joe to go check out themselves..
The audition process is just to find quality talent (decided by fellow performers and judges) and the 70 "pro's" are meant to go through where the main competition starts in the finals (they really should rename it). This is where everyone will be in an equal footing.
