Management didn’t need to know anything about precious stones. Their job is to hire experts who do and raise the capital to make the project happen. There is nothing wrong with buying gemstones from the locals (there are hundreds of illegal traders doing this everyday). Nothing you said at the time was anything other than worthless downramping with zero research backing it up.

The only downramper I am paying any credibility is those that said this was an elaborate scam and provided evidence to back this up. So far I am scratching my head wondering if there was one - maybe gbar72 is the closest, but even he didn’t really suggest this.
