It all depends on your style of how you play the game.
I am investing for long term , as I already get slugged by the taxman for a large chunk of money.
If my capital gains is on the downside of 50% , it makes me a happy man.
If , and I always will stress IF , I make enough to not have to work ,or I can sell to cover my years wages , or even to pay out my mortgage , I am on a winner. If it goes opposite and I lose , Well so be it .
I can just as easy go to the casino and put it all on black.
I find having better odds with research , understanding where companies are heading , market caps , volume etc , is a better way to play the game.
