Pretty messy at the moment. Hopefully things settle down and the country can continue moving forward towards its 2030 plan. I expect this to be the case.

    In a nice parallel:

A small hobby of mine is to take advantage of multiple sports betting agencies and their bonus bet specials. I've just spent the past year using bonus bet specials to accumulate as many bets as possible on Winx to win the 2017 Cox Plate. For the whole year, Winx remained above $1.60 until 3 weeks out from the Cox Plate and average odds ended up being about $2.10 (and when you take into account the bonus bets the odds stretch out to $3.20). Every race that the great mare ran only made me more confident of her victory at the Cox Plate (not confirmation bias, rather her improving times and ability to recover from bad luck), yet even on the day you could get her for $1.20.

    Similarly,

Base Resources continues to release great announcement after great announcement. We all seem to know what is coming regarding cash flow, profits, and mine-life extensions (barring an unknown threat - which is more common than liked). However, much like Winx crossing that finishing line 1st, despite how probable an event may appear, for some weird reason, it's not until the evidence is as obvious and as certain as it can be before most people take action.

    On a side note:

I really enjoy the investing approach where you try to focus on good companies who release good news (providing it's the real picture). I can't help but count my lucky stars I made the early decision to avoid the "the news isn't that bad therefore the company is value" approach. I think you see this a lot with "Value Investors", with Roger Montgomery springing to mind re his opinions on Isentia (hand picked example, I know). Either way, Base Resources continues to release great news and the share price doesn't react, which in my opinion, is a much better value equation.

823 (yes i will be putting those numbers in the Melbourne Cup Trifecta)
