The 3 current aussie producers Greenbushes, Min, and GXY are already producing 1 mt of lithium concentrate PA. Given 350 kg converts to 50 kg lithium carbonate - Thats enough for 280,000 electric vehicles. 280k is a little more than all the car sales in China this year.
Just in Australia alone, next year, annual production will double with Greenbushes, Min, PLS and the other companies, which you would be aware of, winding up next year. So on these raw figure,there may be some oversupply coming. The elephant in the room is just haw much supply China will bring online from Tibet. Platts say their are large salt and rock deposits being developed now.
