It is my belief that REPSOL want to exit PNG.
Stating the obvious, they need a buyer (at an agreed price).
I believe that the most likely buyer would be a Chinese company - maybe OSH are still a possibility.
China are short of LNG in the 2020s.
So, a Chinese entity would likely want all of the gas/LNG, so WLNG would be the most likely development path.
Given the Chinese need for LNG in the 2020s, then a Chinese entry has the potential to get the WLNG project real traction/visibility.
It comes down to whether WLNG is one of the best options available to China.
The fact that China would have stronger ties/influence with PNG may work in our favour.
It has been a long time coming, and it may still not arrive, but hopefully we will see a deal before the New Year (calander or Chinese).
