As far as I am aware we don't know what Mainy said that was leaked to the media. It wasn't a story he ran a 7. It seems it had to do with the way Cousins was being handled etc. Unless you know the specifics it is just conjecture that adds nothing.
This is not a football problem but a personal tragedy and dreadful accident. I thinkMainy's career in the media was longer than his AFL career. There are many more media personalities over the years with drugs and alcohol problems than AFL footballers.
Some of the comments about Mainy's death, particulalry from Melbourne are disgraceful and typical of the shallowness and tackiness of so much of the media especially people like Neil Mitchell.
