    UNHCR – Smart WiFi Kiosk

    Ghana case

    Programme
Refugees in Ghana to benefit from Cash transfers by mobile money: 1,783 vulnerable/extremely poor refugee households identified through a socio-economic survey are to benefit from cash transfers via mobile money beginning in the 3rd quarter of 2017. These multipurpose cash grants are meant for basic needs and livelihoods provisioning, however progressively, all other forms of assistance will be transferred to refugees via this modality. These will include subsistence and transport allowances for health cases on referral, allowances for students on DAFI scholarship, and in 2018 cash for sanitary towels for eligible females. It is envisaged that successful implementation of this intervention will set the stage for the integration of vulnerable PoCs into the national social protection programmes
