This IS very tragic.
We followed Collingwood on TV this year (boy - never thought I'd hear myself say that) as our team, Carlton, was rarely on free-to-air -
Buckley will be greatly missed. Sad to see such a champion player going out because of recurrent injury.
Anthony Koutoufides - and Ange Christou - at Carlton - both suffered the same fates. although Kouta was able to see out his career, unlike Ange, who had to give up far too early. Kouta's champion status was somewhat undermined by his injuries, but he was a valiant player.
Kouta is dancing in a gangster role in "42nd Street" currently running at the Art Centre, Melbourne. Perhaps we'll see "Bucks" in the next round of "Dancing with the Stars" - which Kouta won - and, boy, was he brilliant! Got a big ovation at the premiere last night! Can't wait to see it tomorrow night!!
Well done Bucks!!!
