No offense taken, Gotch.
The Stones are not everyone's cup of tea.
Their song about the 'girl with the faraway eyes'
takes me (sigh) back to my misspent youth.
But I doubt I'd like to see them perform
live after all these years.
Geriatric Rock (even with fireworks)
is still geriatric rock when
lawn bowls would be
more appropriate.
Sooner or later we all have to face
that we're a teenzy bit 'past it'!
Teenage daughters are great at
reminding fathers about that:
Scene as Dad in gardening clothes drives
13 year-old daughter is his old
Corolla to her high school
some years ago now...
Mary-Anne: "Pull up here! Pull up here!
"I don't want my friends to hear
the car radio playing such
horrible yukky music
when you open the
car door!
But I got my own back on her the next day:
"Do you want me to pull up here Mary-Anne?
"Or should I pull up outside the school
wearing this brown-paper bag on
my head with two eye slits
so nobody can see what a
daggy dad you've got?"
Raising kids is great fun
provided you're not
too 'sensitive'. (vbg!)
When all else fails...
... try group therapy.
