their treacherous traits in respect to the same sex marriage issue.
After claiming they would accept the verdict of the people they
even before the outcome is known want to hijack the Bill that
is needed to give effect to SSM should they YES vote prevail.
These people have no mandate if the YES vote gets up!
Its my opinion that the conservative agenda is not only just aimed at
introducing measures to discriminate against the LGBT community
but its also part of the continued sniping and wrecking aimed at Turnbull
personally and also his team. Whatever the faults of the Turnbull govt
the attacks by the fringe conservatives are a disgrace and imo Abbott
has to carry much of the responsibility for what has been happening.
The very public wrecking has been a factor in causing the early failure
of the Turnbull govt.
I don’t know what the outcome of the SSM vote will be, but if it's a
resounding YES vote and the Conservative right continue with their
treachery and introduce a seperate Bill to discriminate against
gay people then voters should judge their treachery very harshly at
the ballot box. The Bill that the conservatives want to try and
pass reportedly could see the ludicrous situation where someone can
be refused the purchase of a meal or some other item because they are
gay or have a gay partner. Such is illegal to to do now but apparently the
conservatives Bill, would try to make such discrimination legal.
Those in Parliament who vote for the conservative Bill will imo be targeted
by both YES voters generally as well as other citizens concerned at the war the
conservatives want to continue against gay people. The LGBT community are
also certainly entitled to do so.
Of course if the YES vote does not get up then no Bill will be presented.
We will know the result tomorrow.
Disclosure: I am a practising Catholic and voted YES!

The proposed bill seems to legalize SSM whilst preventing people being forced to participate in SSM ceremonies directly (priest) or indirectly (florist , baker, etc).
LGB people should be free to marry whom they like.
Poeple should be free to with hold goods and services from events / activities / causes which they do not endorse. Note the discrimination is against the act / institution not the person.
If a Catholic / Islamic group went to a gay printer and said they wanted flyers to campaign for the repeal of SSM, should the gay printer be forced to provide them a service?
