Cleveland Clinic has announced its 'Top 10 Medical Innovations of 2018'.

Coming in at No. 9 is Centralised Monitoring of Hospital Patients. It says
‘Centralized monitoring has emerged as the answer, as part of a “mission control” operation in which off-site personnel use advanced equipment, including sensors and high-definition cameras to monitor blood pressure, heart rate, heart rhythm, respiration, pulse oximetry and more. Risk stratification algorithms assimilate complex data to automatically generate alerts triggering on-site intervention, while filtering out many unimportant alarms’.
Sounds just like the Gmed patch using an offsite call centre for smart remote monitoring.
