Road haulage trucks will be amongst the last human operated vehicles on the roads.
For the same reason trains and trams still have drivers, sharing road with other humans. And thats gonna take at least 20-30 years.
By then 60% of current jobs will be replaced by automation.
And easiest, out of current jobs, to replace by AI are actually administrative/office jobs excluding creative jobs. That are being replaced at exponential rate right now.
The hardest ones are manual labour jobs that aren't highly repetitive and require constant problem solving.
Like: haidresser, plumber, bricklayer, cook, etc.
Accountant? Bank clerk? architect? lawyer? Doctor? Office manager?
The AI is on the casp of singularity (point where AI is equal or better than human at given task) of replacing those of us with these jobs.
Common misconception that labour jobs are going fastest. The easy to replace are already gone i.e. factory jobs, farming, etc.
Fact!
So don't laugh, you might be on the chopping board sooner that truckie!
