I mate - seroiously look into CFDs so you can short and long. I have a list of about 10 stocks that i follow seriously and follow them up and down with long ans shorts. Stocks are over all different sectors of the market. Another word of advise is learn to take a loss. I learnt a very valuable less (well expensive) in August in the correction. I have to say the returns are better than investing and working in a business of your own business. but will cause some stress and can be hard work. I do all my research outside the market hours and concentrate on them during tradin hours. It can still be a gamble, but a good gamble cause of the lifestyle it gives me......
