We had a run in with Mark some years ago - hence his "yet again" comment.

On that occasion Environment Victoria were protesting ECTL at the same time as they were lobbying the government based on a consultants report they'd had prepared. They were using the report to prove the feasibility of some alternate approach they were pushing. Unfortunately the consultant report relied on the availability and use of coal dewatering to get its point over the line (and the parameters of the technology seemed to align with Coldry's characteristics). When confronted by myself and other HC paticipants on their forums they said (and I think it was Mark that came up with this, but not 100% sure) that they could use the consultants report to prove their alternative approach was feasible at the same time as opposing the technology and company that the report relied on. Its all in the archives. They made it clear that they have zero regard for evidence or science.

These guys remember us - expect them to come at us again and again as this hots up. They do not like to let the facts get in the way of a good story. The essence to understanding Environment Victoria is to understand that they are a political organisation with an agenda, not a science-based organisation with the objective of protecting and improving the environment. Sad really.
