JL, if that recent run up is market manipulation, than you should see equivalent selling up the top of the run to match the buying otherwise how do you collect your spoils. Others will grab the higher sell price as a gift and the manipulators will have worn a loss.
If you have enough spare cash you can push any share higher, but getting back out at a profit is a totally different ballgame.
