Five groups totalling 70 centres across 5 states.

Number of weekly sessions offered 1050 - number of sessions reported as full occupied = 96.

Number of days offered over a week 350 - number of days reported as fully occupied = 1.

The regulatory bodies have granted a reprieve on the employment of fully qualified early childhood educators until 2020. That cancels one scenario as to why G8 are advertising such generous packages and incentives to attract quality staff.

The staff packages and another piece of information (which I won't share) is leading me to believe, that GC is finally realising that high quality care is imperative and the key to improving occupancy.

The occupancy levels above are poor, but some other centres are experiencing the same problem. High quality care attracts high occupancy.

The new Childcare Package will do very little to improve occupancy. Opinions from centre directors operating centres charging $140 + per day is that they expect some of their families to share care after July next year. Two days in early learning centres and three days with a qualified nanny. Furthermore they expect that families may share a nanny. Resulting in those high charging centres facing reduced occupancy from the middle of next year.

Freezers, pills, biscuits, budgie's, birthday parties, whiners and those psychologically damaged. Did anyone mention sockpuppets......aahhh 'The Master'.
