The week that was:

Monday (15 October 2007): V.W.A.P. $1.542 on good volume of 10,236,297 shares (total trades 1,448). The last trade was at 4.10 pm ($1.57).

Tuesday (16 October 2007): V.W.A.P. $1.564 on low volume of 4,862,092 shares (total trades 1,021). The last trade was at 4.10 pm ($1.575).

Wednesday (17 October 2007): V.W.A.P. $1.558 on low volume of 4,058,786 shares (total trades 676). The last trade was at 4.19 pm ($1.55).

Thursday (18 October 2007): V.W.A.P. $1.572 on low volume of 4,380,074 shares (total trades 757). The last trade was at 4.10 pm ($1.59).

Friday (19 October 2007): V.W.A.P. $1.566 on light volume of 2,793,826 shares (total trades 688). The last trade was at 4.10 pm ($1.54).


Even though we got a near “pop” in the share price at the beginning of the week, apart from Monday’s volume, there really was no sustained volume momentum.

Tapis closes at US$90 bbl. WTI briefly touched US$90.07 bbl in electronic trading in US on Friday. Both oil prices are not sustainable in the short term based on current demand and appear to be related too geopolitical tensions re: Turkey and Iran.

Oil shows reported at Callawonga-4 but we await the flow rate from this appraisal well.

Non-commercial oil result reported from recent NZ drilling, although disappointing was not unexpected for an offshore exploration well.

On the 20th anniversary of the 1987 crash, the Dow drops 366 points.


Could anyone with the knowledge and experience provide an analysis of the BPT share price (via charting) for this week and where they see it heading over the next few weeks? Chalea and snout provided some good insights from their analysis last Saturday. From what I see, the relative strength index has started trending down.
