the cost base of the shares cannot be altered retrospectively - if you buy shares for 1.00 today cost base of that parcel will not alter (except for capital reconstructions etc)
regardless, all things being equeal, the lower the cost base the higher the gain on disposal
i could be wrong but something doesn't look quite right in your original post - happy to help if you can clarify it
