Agreed, Telco's do need to lead the way and the NBN gutted any incentive for them to do so when they can just sit back, let someone else build the network then buy it off the government in a few years when it invariably dumps it to fluff up the budget.
As for Capital loss, well it won't be realised until you sell so in the mean time sit back and enjoy the dividends and hopefully a turn around once the board can sort this CEO out.
