You are absolutely right. We should not have such a serious, permanent, drastic, and deeply concerning move just "chucked" at us in such cavalier manner by the company, hidden amongst may pages of a boring read - thrown into the mix of other votes at an AGM. How many even bother to read all this stuff they are sent. Yet a very vital announcement regarding a huge change in the company's financial infrastructure is hidden somewhere in the midst of a lot of boring detail. This seems to be how it is always done with many companies not just this one. "Nice" to be told at the last minute though! I do not think it shows much respect for shareholders.
Some wouldn't even have seen this announcment - or- understand it's huge impact - or bother to lodge a vote even if they did!!

It was just as if - "oh, folks, by the way" (you who have put up all the money!) there's this little item on page 184000, and then there's blah blah - how about it folks - we think it's good!!

Put your tick on number 5 box on the proxy form - we know whatls best for you!!

Poor little shareholders are just tagged onto an agenda.
And treated like suckers. They dont go to meetings. What we're told is what filters down on these forums anecdotally from some Blue Chip rarified heights of fancy brokerage firms.

And I don't have too much faith in them and their opinions I can tell you from my experiences.

One broker I dealt with at such a high falutin' company was SO exclusive you could only place trades with his secretary. He rarely deigned to speak to you. Funnily I kept believing in him - even though he was losing me money! Took a long time for the pennies to drop. It was the thick carpets!

I still have my proxy - I didn't tear it up as I fully intended to.

And I'll send it. Fat lot it'll do though.

I'm going to stop posting much now on MPO - as its upsetting me too much. But I'll be reading.
