There is a lot of talk about revenue and the company has been smart to make this the headline in presentations and the metric for people ot follow as its the easiest to improve and quickly.
What we need to remember is for every $1 of sales there is a cost to manufacture of $x and then from that margin factor in all the corporate costs.
So simply to say revenue is going through the roof therefore we are good is a bit short sighted.
Would you rather own a company with $10m revenue and NPAT of $1m or $100m revenue and NPAT of $50k?
Dont get me wrong - revenue matters and is an indication of units being moved etc but valuation will be ased on whats left.
I own - and currently scaling my position up - not a downramper just want to bring some realism to what is going to drive value in the long run. Profits and positive cash flows. Not just revenue.
