I'm not talking right now so daytraders or short termers - thanks for looking but better prospects out there on your timeframe I suspect.
This week seems to have confirmed that the main seller in the past couple of months has run out or sold enough to meet their circumstances as we have really struggled to spend any time above 4c without a repeat seller emerging for the past 2 months - until now.
Now It looks like buying @ 4c or below is less likely to be achieved and any volume of demand could take us back to challenge the 5-6c area. Catalyst? No idea - maybe a late CY deal but more likely the same thing that seemed to happen last year where the chatter around JPM gets going and the whole Jan/Feb/Mar period is positive behind the scenes. It only takes a few new investors in a stock so tightly held to see it happen.
I did a little volume at price analysis over the past month and was a bit surprised to see how little traded at prices below 3.9/4.0c - it was only a few mill at each of the lower prices but all the real volume has changed hands around 3.9/4.0c - also suggesting that demand has finally outweight supply so the price is free to move upwards at some time.
Judging by the recent buying I am not the only one who came away from the recent IR efforts and AGM presentation with a stronger/clearer sense of what their focus is and how to measure it. My observations -
We have a clear platform strategy
We want to use it to deliver 'discovery' (ours or Pharma)
Our offer is to shorten the 5 year discovery phase for Pharma
We want to use the tech to reach the undruggable targets
There is Japanese interest (logo's) that I have never seen/heard of before
We are listening to customers and responding to that rather than showing what we discovered
The Phylomer libraries have barely been touched in terms of their potential
We want to speed up the process of choosing and optimising
The validation matrix is a neat way of showing how they are succeeding on platform development
Peptide vaccine - havent heard much on this before but people seem excited when I ask around
Clarification on Genentech timeline (the only negative I could see)
Just on the Genentech timeline - I did ask the CEO a while back if this was the type of deal we would be doing in the future and it was clear to me that it was not. The opionality granted to the Pharma is too great and we need shorter timeframes and clear YES/NO gates so effort is not wasted - this sounded good IMHO.
Just some musings for the longer term ones of us here - have a great Xmas all.
