Yes, there are certainly dangers in eating to much Tumeric and, in fact, it is not likely that one could ever consume a therapeutic dose daily and live!!

As I understand things it seems the key to Tumeric's apparent success lies in its main active ingredient Curcumin and as a whole spice food the digestive system is unable to isolate and absorb sufficient of that to have any therapeutic effect.

That means the Curcumin has to be extracted while at the same time maintaining its potency and that is what is being used in the trials. Apart from a growing number of positive evidence-based findings there is a lot of anecdotal stuff about its effectiveness in a myriad of diseases yet to be investigated.

I only cited a small sample of its use in gastric cancer but serious scientific research is going on into its efficaciousness in a wide range of diseases and it looks even at this early stage that it may prove a hidden treasure..

As a natural substance it would be very hard to patent so Big Pharma (and Little Pharma) will need to get the hatchets out and chop it off at the knees before it puts them out of business!!
