The new application area L20/50 about 4000 sq km in size is just 30km southest and on trend with the giant Sirikit oil and gas fields which have produced over 150 million barrels of oil up to now and are still producing at 20,000bopd. It has a rail line and oil pipeline passing through the area. There is an existing oil well which is shut-in and can be made productive with new equipment. SUR and CVN in JV are the only applicants for this area.
