It always amuses me when someone thinks Australian approvals are so important (compared to Canada). Canada's population is 50% more than ours (24m vs 36m). Our neighboring export partners are known for long jail sentences if not the death penalty for weed possession. Canada's export partners are much further along in terms of medicinal and recreational legalisation.
A smaller fish in a bigger pond grows much faster than the inverse.
