Oh and as for the preference to use WiFi, I'll ask further but it could well be due to network quality and speed issues rather than cost of data. I've never been there so can't attest to performance but when I was in Malaysia I found data speeds and network reliability very patchy with continual drop outs. That could well have something to do with global roaming though.
