An engineer would oversee the design phase, account for the glue viscosity and the robot would build exactly as it was told to within a 1mm tolerance. So the robot doesn't have to compensate for anything, the designers and engineers do, it has nothing to do with optimization. I'm starting to wonder if you actually know what that word means.
