The labor party while in opposition for the last 11 years did virtually nothing except for continuous obstruction of any and all initiatives of John Howard's team of professionals.
Much of the time they were too involved in the continuous musical-chair game of revolving-door leadership, and in trying to squash the honest and shocking revelations of the actual inner workings on the labor party by Latham, to have time for any attempt at even pretending to be an active opposition party.
This in part leads them to the current situation where they have no policies of their own to present to the voters and have such a shallow leadership and close to non-existent talent pool to draw on that they can only afford to show the one pretty-face to the voters as if the labor party was just a one-man show.
Allowing any other of their faces to be seen by the public and press risks embarassing and in-consistent answers to any questions that often contradict the ad-hoc copy-cat statements and policies that rudd has claimed. The press seems to be surprisingly helpful in covering up these embarrasments for labor.
This actually reveals that the real policies that the trade union bosses and their communist party hacks, that actually control the labor party, plan to impliment if they manage to fool enough voters to gain government, are not the current policies rudd claims and that they have copied from John Howard's team, but radical, dangerous and unworkable far-left policies aimed in part at restoring power to the union bosses and will spin Australia off on a dangerous tragectory away from the prospery and stablity we have enjoyed under John Howards leadership.
After 11 years the labor party have not been able to develop a credible talent pool from which to draw aceptable and consistent leadership.
During 11 years of opposition, the labor party was so obsessed with their internal conflicts that they could only fall back on obstructionism of John Howard's government as the primary strategy of their party to present to the population of Australia.
During 11 years off opposition the labor party has developed no policies that they dare to honestly tell the voting public about. They are so scared about how the real policies they plan to impliment will be greeted by the voting public that they have resorted to pretending to have policies copied from John Howard's government.
The labor party has failed miserably as an oppostion party, I dont see why they will do any better in government.
More worrying is that when the veil has been accidentally lowered, as in the recent garret fiasco, outdated, radical, unworkable far-left policies are actually shown to be what the labor party plans to impliment if they gain power.
A time to be careful and not squander the prosperity and security that John Howard's government has provided and will continue to provide.
