Yes, i think it will be live in the app. Top 5 will perform livestream then winner to be announce. There will be no more voting as confirmed by Akil (top5 performer). He corrected his earlier post regarding voting during live finale.
The production format of the livestream is unknown. We will just wait & see. I'm not expecting a huge audience but I expect plenty to watch the replay. I expect Megastar to leave a copy of the live finale in-app for new & existing users to watch. This is what's great about the app you can watch when you have the time.

I am more thinking of your second thought that once the winner is awarded the $1m, the following media coverage will help get people to download the app.

I think short term lower cost Spotlight mini competition will continue to run to fine tune the app with improvements to increase engagement and downloads.
I think extra livestream competition will be introduce to increase in-app revenue and engagement.
Doug Barry mentioned on past announcement to focused on engagement to drive organic growth which decreases marketing spend. So existing performers & fans will drive the marketing.

So by the time they're ready to run WWT2 a major sponsor can be engaged to maybe provide the prizes etc..

At the same time they can continue to finalise India deal with Riva and also engage with other countries etc.. (imo)
