Why do you think franchises will decline? The developed world is moving away from individuals and families cooking their own food, except if they are doing it for a hobby. More and more pre-prepared food is being stocked in supermarkets, more and more people eat out. This trend will continue. I see a day (I'm not that creative here, it's already happening in New York) where apartments are built without kitchens because people would rather spend their time and money down at a cafe (oh, Gloria Jeans, what a good idea!) catching up with friends.
