I've said often - relentlessly in fact - that it's not a crisis that destroys a company, it's their response. They have to do three things:
1. Acknowledge the problem
2. Take responsibilty
3. Over correct
Your plan sounds sensible to me, solving (if successful) several issues at once. But they need to over correct to smother the negative press and to suck the oxygen out of hysterical and agenda driven comments. Than they can get on with implementing a new plan hopefully in line with your recommendations.
I'll add one thing - they need to be DEVELOPING franchises in line with my 'franchise lite' model. The market loves something new and if it's tech driven (in part) all the better. But let's solve the current issues first?
