I visited the two major malls near my home on Friday evenning, Saturday afternoon and just now around lunch time on Sunday. The following is what I have observed.
Friday evening: DK had two employees, most donuts were sold out, bought 2 glazed donuts and a regular milk shake for $11. Watched for about 30 mins, a steady stream of customers ordered milkshakes and bought what's left in the display cabinets.
Saturday: same DK, 4 employees on duty, lots of donuts sold, as well as milkshakes. Kids love donuts!
There's also a Michel's in the mall (closed on Friday evening), there were some customers sitting down around 3 pm, employees looked pretty happy.
Sunday: visited a DK in a different mall, prices are slightly higher, but this one had6 employees! 2 seemed to be teenager trainees. It's close to the cinema, every kid walking by would ask mummy or daddy for a donut. There's also a GJ in this mall. Quite a queue to get coffee, most seats were taken.
Overall the franchises in my area don't appear to be struggling at all. RFG franchisees provide jobs to local youth.
Shame on the trolls who suddenly appear here to spread fear.
