Justis - Australia is too misogynistic - I recently saw a historic program on Julia and realised I hadn't even realised how much vile language was thrown at her - it was totally disgusting. No other country in the Western World would have used that sort of language on a democratically elected leader; Australians are deeply mistrusting of female leaders - it would have to be a truly exceptional lady to get there - AND: do we get truly exceptional people into politics even? Don't answer that one.

I personally had watched Tony Abbott in action in Parliament during Julia's term with disgust and astonishment mostly and was totally turned off - maybe his 'performance' also lingers in people's memories, hence no chance at leadership; he seems to be good at 'hate' and gets those similarly inclined into his corner, but there isn't much else on offer.

So - Australians are not ready for a female P.M. - let alone prissy Missy - she is doing a great job in her diplomatic post, has great language skills and she is doing us proud as is.

Turnbull seems to be a man for all seasons, hence his popularity; a bit wishy-washy, yes, but that possibly expresses best what voters wish for.
