th3p4rk2, maybe best to be non tax resident (subject to your circumstances, ie., resident less than 6 months - may have consequences - DYOR) and reside in a CGT free country like Singapore or Malaysia or ??? for just over 6 months??

Plenty of Tourist Visas available close to OZ for 2 months (Indonesia) to 3 months (Malaysia), alternatively
worth looking at the 10 year MM2H visa, no income or capital gains taxed from overseas at present.
