Appears there has been a well planned buy out of Australia including farms, wineries, Real estate.
Stocks like Dick Smith, TEN, Arrium one steel, Oroton .
Myer dosnt have excessive debts from what I can see
Westfield sold out because they wouldnt be expecting any growth in rent yields,
Based on that Myer isnt facing a rising rent yield cost curve. If anything rents may have peaked and due to pull back, possibly saving Myer some rent costs.
The Myer Company has alot of options to tweak the Business in changing times,
Its not like a Mining stock, they cant change the colour of their iron ore if their mine only has red dirt there.
Myer can change with the trends, fashions, seasons, and fads.
Myer hasnt even tapped into offering other services and products in the store, like insurance, home loans, and 100 other possible profitable entities that could drag people into the stores.
Right now its Christmas time, so no need to pull out the carrot to lead the horse into the gate,
But Im sure there will be many new draw cards.
Amazon is only hoping to become 2% of Austraian retail over the next 6 years or so, if Amazon is 2 % of total retail, then it could only dent Myer sales by a small fraction of a percent that could be made up by the Myer online growth.
