isn't it just as simple as wanting to maximize the value within the company.. and making shareholders & mgmt money.
if the market would prefer particular assets to be listed separately - then so be it.
being spun-out also enables u2 get dedicated funding for projects and enables new investors to support/invest in the commodity of their choice..
getting an allocation into the cobalt play here is the first step. MTC recently traded much higher than this... and that had nothing to do with spinning out cobalt..!!
