You are absolutely right tawny as to the time being right to put out a report on the progress of the drilling and the success or otherwise of the modifications to the 'bottom hole assembly'.

I don't know wether any GDY board or senior staff members read chat sites such as this but they would be missing a good opportunity to gauge general investor sentiment if they didn't. It would be akin to John Howard saying, "I don't care about the polls, the end result is all that matters."
Well that's what John says but believe me he watches and uses the polls like invaluable indicators of the general mood of the electorate all the time.
Watching HotCopper and similar sites over the past week he would be highly concerned at the way discussion and interest has dried up. Even from one as voluble as your goodself tawny.
This should indicate that followers are growing disinterested or disenchanted. The weaker followers, that is to say, the less confident in the likelihood of this venture succeeding, will start to take the view that this is all proving too hard and 'they' are not game to say what's happening.

As you rightly point out this is a time to forget the "We will report on a fortnightly basis" doctrine and report on a realistic basis as and when required. Keep the investors involved.

    On another point.
Reports we have had described the problems experienced with vibration and resultant damage to the 'Bottom Hole Assembly'.
This was the first I had heard of this BHA device in reports.
Maybe on Hab.1 & 2. there were no such refinements.
The report stated this assembly was some 200m in length!!
I thought, "How interesting it would be to see some pictures of this device".
Well, I believe I have found one. If anyone cares to dig out their Sept. Quarterly Report the cover picture shows the bit assembly for the first stage of Hab.3.
If you look more closely you can discern sleeves and collars surrounding the drill stem. I imagine these are parts of the 'assembly' to provide added weight, stability and rigidity to the stem. I can see auger like helical grooves in one section, doubtless to assist lifting of the mud and swarf.
If these sleeves were bent and cracks developed then one could assume things were getting a right shaking down there and the vibration sensors wont need to be too sensitive to pick up vibes like these to alert the operators 2,3 or 4 km's above that it would be prudent to drop back a gear.

I for one Tawny will be looking for an update tomorrow to
be kept abreast of progress on what is after all, probably one of the most important holes to be drilled into this continent. Proving up a concept likely to be equivalent in benefit to "15 Snowy Mountain Schemes."

It doesn't need to be a secret, does it.
