    Petrophysics is looking at polished sections of core through microscopes and other such high falluting stuff.
    Ground geophysics is people walking around on surface conducting surveys to look for orebodies and structures by looking for their influence on the earth's magnetic field and on man-made electric fields. Seismic surveys too are a geophysical tool.
